2013 was not an easy year to launch a new value investment firm. Growth stocks were outperforming value for a sixth year of what would be an unprecedented fourteen-year run. Not coincidentally, the Federal Reserve was five years into its jaw-dropping monetary stimulus, which also lasted a decade and a half.
However, thanks to the steadfast discipline of our team and strong support from our clients, Kopernik successfully took advantage of the volatility and bifurcated pricing and has continued to thrive. Here’s to the next 10 years of independent thinking.
